Good Morning All!
I have a 2000 Durango 4WD 4.7 w/approx 157,000 miles in daily use. Lately I have picked-up an intermittent/irregular skip upon idle which can now be felt while driving. I initially figured the Ignition Coils were going weak, however, I have noticed an INCREASE in Fuel Economy lately which might indicate a Lean Mixture. Sparkplugs are recent NGK's (skip upon idle was happening before sparkplug replacement). I have also noticed that coming down the backside of a hill @ hwy speeds w/cruise control engaged, the engine will go to much higher rpm's to reduce overspeed, which makes me even more curious about a possible vacuum leak. Does anyone know of any common vacuum leaks on this engine series, or should I just hang a set of Coils?
Thanks & Have a Great Week!
