Hi, I have an 05, Dodge Dakota 4.7, looks like the engine has been switched, I am having problems with the computer, if i buy a new one they want the vin and mileage.
The old engine was a standard 4.7 because the Vin for engine is an "N" , my current engine has bar code sticker on the valve cover and the side of the block, and those numbers are the same, Is there a way to tell what year the current engine is, from the bar codes, or if it is an HO engine? Since the HO engine uses a different computer or if it is an older engine prior to my third generation Dakota, I want to make sure I get the right computer for the engine I now have. Prior owner no help, the bar code on block is tpcek168513808 774; and p53021774ea 4.7L this sticker has been tatooed thru with the numbers 50715121 those numbers look to be punched diagonally across the sticker over the other two numbers,
