My Ram 2003 1500 w/ 4.7 4wd with with stick shift is overheating after driving about 15 miles on the highway at 70 mph. The temperature gage will climb until it nearly pegs the hot side and then bell rings then the light comes on. If I slow down to 60 it will start to cool down a bit and the light goes off.

I had the thermostat changed and replaced the coolant. Still have the problem.

Any of you guys have the same problem and how did you fix it?

Thanks for your help.

Did you bleed the cooling system? There's a bleed port on the top, right where you'd find the T-stat on any other engine. The 4.7 has to have the air bled out of it, otherwise it'll overheat....quick!
