I'm having a hard time finding a definite answer, but the consensus seems to be with a 2.5"/1.5" leveling kit they will fit fine with only a slight rub at full lock? Anyone running this setup and have pictures? I'm torn between the 35's or the 33's, I feel like I'll regret getting 33's.

I can let you know in about a week. I just ordered some 315/70/17's which are 34 inches tall. I agree, a 33 isn't quite enough tire. I have a Daystar level.

That's actually the size I was looking at, I figure if a 35 fits a the 315 should be perfect.

I will look forward to a definite answer to this also. This is exactly what I am wanting to do to my 09 qc4x4.
Are you both running stock 17's?

I have a TRX4 and traded my stock 17s for stock 20s, the 17x7s looked whimpy, and being 7" wide made them pretty much impossible to put a decent tire on, don't know why dodge couldn't give us a standard 8" wide rim. I'm looking at some pro comp 7005s but am having a hard time deciding on a tire.

I am putting them on the stock 17's that it came with. They are the chrome looking ones that are actually a plastic cover I think.

I think you are confused on sizing..... 315 is the tread width, 70 is the height/profile, and then 17 rim size.

a 315/70r17 tire is little over 34" tall and a bit over 12" wide, a 35"x12.5" is obviously bigger, what makes you think I'm confused?

315/70/17 are 11.6 wide and 305/70/17 are 12.2 wide in "most" brands.

315/70/17s are 12.4 wide by 34.4, 305/70/17s are 12.0 x 33.8. I don't know where you are getting your numbers from but the Pro Comp tire website (which has a calculator), this independent website http://www.1010tires.com/tiresizecalculator.asp, and common sense (315mm is wider then 305mm) all disagree with your math.

Over all width and actual tread width are two different things.:teacher:

When you learn how to read and understand a tire size we can talk more. :rck:
First number = section width = width in mm.

Second number = sidewall size (from rim edge to tread) as a percent of section width, 70 = 70% of section width.

Comparing a 315 is a wider tire then 305, if both have a 70% sidwall aspect ratio it means the larger tire in both dimensions.

Please elaborate on why me, and every website on tire sizes is wrong but you aren't?

AHH I see my misprint now. It should have read 305/65/17. Almost all 305 tires are wider then a 315.

So will BFG 315/70/17 fit the Stock 09 rims?

It would be close, I ended up going with bfg 315/70r17s on aftermarket 17x8 rims, that size tire would prefer a 8.5" wide rim, the stock rim is only 7", it would be iffy.
