That calculator is nice, but most all tires actually measure out different. As an example, the Maxxis Bighorns I have in a 305/70-17 measure out at 11.9 wide and 34 tall.

Typically a 305/70 will be equivalent to a 33 x 12.50.

Ya, the chart gives you a general size, but that can vary like Davecruz pointed out. I noticed the same when I was buying tires. Best thing to do is to check the specs that are listed on the website for whatever brand tire you are buying. Also, the diameter can change too once the tires are actually mounted on the truck. Depends on load and inflated pressure.

Ok so I checked the 305/70R/16 Swamper SSR's that im looking at, and they only have a tread width of 10.4!! I wonder if they will poke out the sides of my fender wells? Any thoughts?
