:help: Im in need of some new tires on my '05 slt, would these rub? i want to put some 20's on it. Its a 4x4 so i dont want to go too thin, 285's would be perfect. Any suggestions would mean alot. Thanx guys.
Almost forgot, would i need a new braking system for 20's? Someone told me that 20's would fit or something....

This is a Great Site to use.
http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

I used it when i bought my new wheels and tires.
275/55/20 will just barely rub on our 2005 Dakota's so use that as a Base line and it should answer any question you might have about new tires,... It'll even tell you how much your speed will be off.

It's a great site.

Wow, that site sure would have saved me and the guys at Discount Tire a lot of trouble a couple weeks ago.

Thanks for posting that link.

I can use this as a research tool as I continue to look for bigger tires that will fit my Dakota with the 17-inch stock wheels.

discounttire.com website says they will fit in thier upsizing section, that is the size I am going to use. They also seem cheaper than 275/55/20 or 265/50/20's. The 285/50/20 is about .6" taller and .7 wider than the original 265/70/16's.
