Just got my new Ram a couple weeks ago. Looking into installing a console security safe. Either Console Vault, or Locker Down. What is holding me back is that both are mounted by screwing four self tapping screws into the plastic inside the storage box in the console. Doesn't seem all that secure, but both companies, and many owner reviews claim they can not be just pried loose. But then I noticed another potential fail that nobody mentioned. There are
four Torx head screws close to the top of the box. They would not be
covered by the vault. So, do they hold the inside of the box in? Could a thief with a Torx deliver just remove four screws, and be gone with the inside of
the console box, vault and contents included? Not really excited about taking them out to see for fear they are holding something that would be a pain to
reattach.
