Hello all. I've ran into an odd problem and am hoping someone here might know a fix or have some advice.

2000 GC sport. 3.8 140k miles.

Code P0500, speed sensor malfunction. No speedo. Changed output speed sensor, used scanner to reset. Still have the code P0500 and no speedo.

Other than that the transmission seems to be shifting a little higher than normal.

It's an autostick if that helps. At times, the gear display seems to act funny as well.

there is a wheel speed sensor on the paasenger side hub. that can affect shifting if it is bad or going bad.

the van should have a speed sensor on all its wheels, but they only relate to the ABS system or traction control if equipped. they shouldn't cause the tranny to shift funny

there must be a fault in the wiring to the output speed sensor. or the new sensor is faulty
