P0710 Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor Circuit Malfunction
Your TCM is changing shift points depending on calculated oil temperature and actual engine coolant temperature. Because your tranny does not have a temperature sensor, the oil temp. is "guessed at". 96 and up trannies have the internal sensor located in the Transmission Range Sensor (TRS).
A bad temperature sensor can cause the TCM to think that the oil is overheated and cause delayed shifts and changed TC lock up operation. This applies to all the 42LE/A606 trannies regardless of year. The trip point temperature is different as I described in my last post. A too cool engine temp.reading will cause the TC not to lock up and this can overheat the tranny oil. Looks like the engine coolant sensor is quite important to proper tranny operation.
