Gauges no longer move, mileage and gear indicators are all dark!
1. Checked fuse OK.
2. Pulled out I.O.D. fuse for 10 minutes and put it back won't help.
3. Switched ON-OFF-ON-OFF-ON and got engine code 66 (can't find any description for that code).
4. Pressed trip & reset botton and key ON for 5 seconds, nothing happened.
(normally it starts the Gauge testing)

Definitely sounds like your battery is trying to tell you "replace me!" Either that or you have corrosion on your terminals or a bad battery cable.

Get as good a charge you can on that battery, and then take it to a parts store that does free battery testing (Auto Zone, Advance, etc.). Betcha it comes up near-dead.

Good luck.

Harry,

Don't be misled by the fact that your van starts and runs fine. These vans have a highly sophisticated computer that rations power distribution to the many electronic systems on the vehicle. When battery power starts to wane, the computer is "smart" enough to allocate power to essential systems like starting, running, safety systems, etc., and will start cannibalizing power from things like the instrument panel, windshield wipers and so forth.

When it gets really bad, you'll find your van struggling to start, and then 20 minutes later, start with no problems.

You have the classic symptoms. Get the battery checked.
