Where is the TCM on a 1997 dakota i looked in the 01 manual but it was not there.

Are you talking about the transmission control module? if you are itis located by the shifting linkage right next to the park neutral switch,it is a cluster of 8 wires. You won't find it in chilton"s either.I had to go to a tranny shop to get a print out of the wiring color codes for mine. Please let me know if your wires are bare going into the sensor. my wires were all bare an inch above the plug.
