I have a 1996 2500 4x4 HD V-10 w/150,000 miles. Radiator/thermostat/fan clutch/hoses/cap replaced over a two year period. According to the stock temp gauge, runs around town at 195-200 degrees, turn on AC runs about 210, tow my 23 ft Komfort 5th up any kind of grade and she will go to 235+. At times I see a strange fluctuation on the gauge, temp range from 180 to 210 over 5 to ten minutes, no sense of regularity or cause noticed.

Are these temps normal? I heard today that there is a newer generation water pump from Dodge that has larger impeller surface area. I called Dodge on that and parts said that there was an older sequence of numbers prior to the current one.

you might need to back flush your system real good, you would not believe all the junk that can build up in the cooling system even if well taken care of.
