My 1990 Dodge Ram has stopped running. It will turn over, but will not start. Im not sure why it wont start as it has been running fine up until Jan 2005. My first thoughts were that water had entered the gas tank and the gas line was frezzing, but now that summer has come around it seems that is not the case. Any thoughts on what the problem might bewould be helpful as I would love to repair it and have it running once again. Thanks for any help on this matter.

Sounds like it may be a problem with the fuel pump.

Are you getting spark to the plugs when you turn the engine over?

I havent looked to see if there was a spark out of the plugs, however one of my neighbours suggested putting gas directly into the carbourator to see if a couple of the cylinders would fire, and none of them did.

I also wondered about the timing, and maybe the on board computer had a problem, and effected the timing as a result

Well in that case, there could be a problem with the crank sensor, which should be located at the top of the transmission bellhousing.
