Hi all,
I have a 1988 D100 with 318 and am after some advice on how to best to upgrade my suspension for a smoother ride as it’s quite stiff and the local roads here aren’t the best.
Im not super mechanically minded but am enjoying the challenge of learning so any advice would be hugely appreciated.
The truck stance has been lowered by a previous owner by them flipping the axles.
Would this be the reason for the poor ride, would it be old suspension components or a combination of both?
I would love to keep the lowered stance of the truck while increasing the ride quality but not sure the best way to go about this without getting myself in too deep work or cost wise.
I don’t really regularly cary any load in it, just a dirt bike occasionally.
I was considering replacing the Front and rear struts and front coils as I’m not sure but the existing ones could very likely be the originals. Possibly removing one leaf from the pack as well if it would help…
For struts I am looking at Bilstein B6 in the front and Rancho RS9000XL adjustable struts in the rear. Not set on these particular items but from research where a reasonable purchase.
