I have a banged up 1987 dodge ram d100 with the 225 ci slant 6 engine.
I want to drop that engine in the donor 1987 dodge ram 250 with the 360 ci v8.

Are the AUTOMATIC transmissions different? Would i have to keep the AUTOMATIC transmission and the engine together or could I just swap engines?

You probably have a 904 transmission witch is a light duty version of the 727 that's behind the 360. Swap over the motor and trans, Also maybe the radiator. The 360 will need more cooling that the 6. What rear is in the truck?

Mind you im going V8 to v6. I didn't think of that, the 904 transmission will be pulling an 8 lug instead of the 5 lug. I don't know the actual names of the rear ends. Thanks for the reply! Would that be an issue?
