Hi Guys I have a 1973 B300. 360v8 a727 trannie.
I just pulled the transmission jacked up the engine and got the pan almost
off but had to pull the pump with the pan hanging. I think I must have strange
pick up as it wont let me get the pan off with the pump on, even pushed the pick up tube all the way up, still no go. Seems like almost everyone
can get the pan off with the transmission still installed, but not this set up.
Anyway I put it all back together and the pump isn't pumping. I really do not want to remove
the transmission and motor mounts, radiator and such to do this again. Does anyone know
how hard it is to remove the crossmember and have total access to the oil pan?
It seems as that would be the way to go for me on this one that is proving so difficult.
Pics of the front crossmember removed would be awesome as well to see what I may be up against.
Any help is very much appreciated. Thank you

update haha. Well i unbolted the crossmember and it dropped about 4 inches.
I raised the engine about 4 inches. Now I have all kinds of room but the oil pan will not come
out against the transmission and against the steering components that go from side to side.
Crazy, i have done many of pans from Cherokee to F150 and not had this kind of trouble haha.
