I'm in the process of assembling my 727 trans and have an issue with total end play on the input shaft. Before disassembly I recorded .078 end play with a .085 fiber thrust washer.

I have in my inventory I have a .040 fiber thrust washer and a .100 nylon thrust washer. I don't really want to use the .100 wash since that will gain me .015 less end play...not much gain. What I would like to do is combine the .085 stock washer with the .040 washer to reduce my end play down to a total of .038. I am not sure if this is acceptable practice or not.

Anyone with any experience with this? I would sure appreciate your input.
