3500 drw,8500 miles. Light came on and drove it home 35 miles. Manual says emissions need to be serviced. Manual also says a continuous light{which is what I have** means service at earliest convenience. Flashing light means asap with loss of power and mpg goes down. My question is roughly how many miles can it be driven. Dealer is 50 miles away. I'm going to call them in the morning and get there. TIA, Craig

Mine, that I used to have, did that several times. I just drove the truck hard and the light would eventually go out. Unfortunately this may be the start of soot issues for you. You may want to consider unplugging the EGR connection once you get it looked at....

Thanks for the reply. I talked to the dealer and was told if I would drive it about 40 miles it would probably take care of itself. I hooked my 32' gooseneck to it and loaded my 18000 lb dozer and drove it about 10 miles loaded. Didn't take but 5 or 6 of it to clear things up. Thanks again, Craig
