I've had my '05 Stratus SXT sedan, 11K miles, 2.4L engine, for about two weeks now and just noticed a peculiar sound a few days ago. The best way I can describe the sound is a constant "woosh", like what it sounds like when a gust of wind passes by a window, that can be heard at idle but becomes more prominent as engine speed increases. The noise exists at all engine speeds as far as I can tell, though road noise blocks it out on the expressway when the RPMs are higher. The sound is there whether the car is in motion or not, and whether the engine is ice-cold or warmed up to normal operating temperature. Other than this peculiar sound, the car runs fine with no signs of any other mechanical difficulties and no MIL or stored codes.

What could this possibly be? The first thing I thought was a loose or worn vacuum hose, but all the hoses seem okay to me. Am I missing something obvious? :help:
