I have a 2001 grand caravan 3.3 eng. when driving every so often (3 times) the lights start blinking and the horn starts going off. I pull over disconect the battery for 2-3 min and it clears up. How do I fix this?
That sounds like your security alarm is tripping.... Assuming you have that feature.....
The next time that happens, instead of disconnecting the battery,
put the ignition key in the drivers door and lock the door, then unlock it. If it is the alarm, that should reset it.
There are security switches on each door, the rear gate and the hood. It could be anyone of these switches..
Do you drive with the doors locked? If so maybe that arms the system. IOW it thinks you parked it. Then something trips it, like the hood switch getting jarred by the bumps, or a door not fully closed shaking. Just talking out my a$$ here.
