Anyone has an idea how to get the codes on these trucks  As I was told to hold down the reset button while turning the key to the on position is this correct or was I mis informed? Without going out and getting a scanner as the closest dealer to me is 1200km's away.
I don't know for sure, since mine is a '99 and the key doesn't work, but, I believe the '00 up works. Turn the key on-off, on-off, on-off, then back to on. That should display a P#### type code in the mileage read out. HTH.
Another nice thing to get is a OBD II Code reader, that way if it's something dumb like a loose gas cap, you can obliterate the check engine light. Durable Cheap ones are always available on eBay for low prices, most are used once. look up Actron, or OBD II. tons and tons.
