Had it going on 6 yrs.. Just in past 2 months I've put ALOT of time & cash into it... New steering from pitman arm down, new steering stabilizers, new hub bearings, axle u-joints, upper and lower ball joints, shocks, rear diff & gears, new tires, etc. Serious pain in my ass but well worth it... It's basically a brand new truck now... and this thing will climb a telephone pole if you let it haha... With the new 4.56's and intake it's getting around 14 on the highway. I'm not sure if previous owner did any interior engine work, but my son has a 98 2wd ram 5.9 with 31 inch tires & 4.10 gears... mine walks away from it like its a fat chick at last call so it's possible he did some modification.
