Been a few years since I've had an old Dodge

It's also been a few years since I've been on Dodgetalk, props to whoever sent me three password resets on my account, since I don't think the email I signed up with is even active anymore.

I'm picking up this 1984 W-150 this weekend, sans the plow. No idea on miles, but it's a /6 truck that runs, and it's not in the $3-4,000 or more price range these trucks have been going for in CT. That's right, people are asking over four thousand dollars for 30+ year old plow trucks in the rust belt.

Plans are to clean it up and use as a daily driver, eventually I'd like to move up to a 360 o a big block, but that'll have to wait until I save some money and can take time off to do the swap.

Forgive me Dodgetalk, for I have sinned!

I am now driving a 95 f-150, and the worst part is I let a shop do some work on it!

Got the truck home finally, here's some more pics, the carb close-up is an extra that came with the truck.

The fuel tank was a gas can in the cab with an electric inline pump to prime it, and it takes a bit to get it running. Doesn't like to stay running when it's put in gear, though.

Suggestions on where to start? I'd like to get it road worthy first and foremost.

looks like a fun project. I grew up with slant 6 dodges. Our family had a 70 dodge dart, 75 duster, 80 aspen, 79 D100 all with /6 motors. I now have a project truck with a /6. if you can find parts, I'd start with a complete carb rebuild.

I'm taking the pansy way out. I'm getting a magnum 5.9 EFI build for the truck.

Though it's not a 4 x 4, here's a good tale about my slant 6 pickup...

Well, you wouldn't want to get your hands that dirty, would you?

And I'm not sure if that model had the 7-lug wheels. If that is the case, then you got everything you deserve!

Hope you enjoyed looking at my slant 6 story...
