HOW TO: Install AUX-in for RBQ(6 disk) radios

Ok lady’s and gentleman I have my first how to. I'll be telling you how to install an aux in port for your factory RBQ radio. The RBQ is the radio with the 6 disk changer built in. This might work with other radios but I'm not sure so you’ll have to check the back of your radio.

The box im using that allows this is a TERK XM converter, this allows you to hook RCA cables to your radio. You can buy a cable at radio shack or make your own. I made my own with the RCA cable that came with the converter. How you do this is up to you, it’ll depend how you want your MP3 player to hook up and where you want it.

Im installing this on a 2005 with the infinity system but it should work in any radio as long as you have the small square plug in the back.

First step to do is remove your front dash piece covering your radio. There is one screw next to the purse hook. Remove this screw and then gently pry the cover off.

Here you can see the cover removed. Next remove the four screws holding the radio in place.

Then pull the radio out and install the terk xm converter. Here you can see the plug installed into the back of the radio. Simple enough. The converter is the small plug on the right, if you have this on your radio it should work for you.

Here is a picture of the terk converter and part number. The part number is XMDCHY100

Then you can find a place and shove the converter so you’ll be able to put the radio back in. Before you put your radio in, hook up your RCA cable to the converter and run it where it needs to go.

This is where I ran mine. I pulled out the cigarette lighter and ran the wire to there.

Here it is all finished up!

And here is what it looks when you hit mode and it goes into XM mode and allows your aux in to work.

Enjoy your MP3
