Hi,
i am new to this site and i have to say it is really cool!

but anyway, i have a 1997 dodge 1500 4x4 w/ a 318 and a 46re tranny. the pickup itself has 101 clicks, but the tranny is a rebuild right from DC and it has 36k on it. the overall performance of the transmission is good but my converter locks and unlocks way too easy. at around 60-80 is when its at its worst, and i usually cant keep it in od when going down the freeway. my tires are stock size and 3.55 gearing. a couple guys i know say you can put a different valve in the tranny to give it more pressure. i am kind of brain dead when it comes to electronic trannys the 727 is more my cup of tea.
any help would be appreciated

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

thnx

The overdrive is controlled electronically by the PCM. Engine load(vacuum, throttle opening) is what determines if the controlled needs to shift out of O/D or Lock-up.

You may have engine performance issues that are causing your excessive shifting, things like a plugged catalytic converter will
exhibit symptoms like this.

Take it to a good repair facility that is familiar with the product and get them to check it out for you.

Hope this helps:)
