stock manifolds, cat, 3" pipes coming off the cat to flowmasta super 44 with 3" pipes going out the back. Its too quiet as it is now.

In the next week or two its getting Shorties with true dual 3" straight pipe going all the way back dumping behind each tire with 4" tips. I may actually go with 4 1/2 tips Im not sure yet.

Mind telling what series of flows you have. I am doing a magnaflow hi flow cat into the Flowmaster force two cat back I believe it has the 70 series on it. May not be quite loud enough for me though.

yeah, my flowmaster 44 is too quite (thats why my cutout is open 99% of the time)..a FM70 would be way too quite.

Ya I was worried about that but there is always second chances but some are costly lessons. A cut out now that an idea cheaper than a new muffler maybe?

the reason you may not be having the power you want is because you compression in your cylenders are low, try some engine restore and do a compresson test, if its low than you found your problem , theses magnum motors are prone to cracking heads , which would give you a reason to put in better one

i have alot of milage on my truck and put in engine restore it does work, a guy on the other forum did a before and after compression test and it did prove that it worked, but if one is really cracked then you may have to get it fixed. but it does fill in the walls and stuff try it it wont hurt been using it evrey oil change

You can get an engine cylinder compression gauge at most auto stores

it basically looks like a gauge with hose and a screw in connector that goes into the spark plug hole

most readings seem to be between 125 and 160 psi, but to see if your engine is sound, most readings should be within 5% of each other.

Other reasons for low readings are: burned intake or exhaust valve, broken piston or piston ring, broken valve spring or a blown head gasket.

I've used engine restore on three different vehicles now and it’s done a great job every time.

I used to have a flowmaster 2 chamber dual. It slowly rotted out and my truck became "louder" when the muffler fell off on the highway as I was moving. Now I got a cheap stock exhaust once again. I do have a dynomax cat on it, sounds pretty good.
