im getting ready to install the rough country 3" front,2" rear lift kit.
can i fit a 33" tire with this lift? and if so whats size can i get that works with the stock chrome 98 ram 1500 4x4 wheels
You should be fine but, you'll need about 4 1/2" of backspace on the wheels. Did you do the $499.00 RC 3" lift kit with the new 4 link arms with grease fittings? At 3" in the front you'll need them plus a new Drop Pitman Arm which then requires you to get a new 'after-market' steering stabilizer as the OEM S/S will be blocked by the new DPA. You'll then be able to align it perfectly.
The guys @ Rough Country can answer any questions you might have.
I'm running that rim with 285/75/16s...no rubbing anywhere, anytime. Depending on the carcass (A/T or M/T), the tire is around 33 inches give or take. Mudders tend to run smaller.
Hopefully this is the most up-to-date figures from the tire industry, If not I'm sure we'll get to the bottom of it. Damn Europeans and their crazy math. Give me some of the good ol' 35x12.50x15 or any American Stamndard Numbering System. Like everything else these days it would be best to actually measure one's own tires to be sure since so many tires these days (like everything else) are actually made in countries other than the good ol' US of A.
The 25.4 is correct. I think I need glasses since a 5 doesn't look like a 7. lol
