Where did you get the wires from the switches to the clockspring? I ordered mine from Dodgeparts but they have yet to come in.

Great dude! Isn't is awesome to have them on the steering wheel? It's cool that we can get that option for only about $50.

I got mine from Archer dodge (a sponsor of this forum) and got it at wholesale price and got it in abotut 5 days. Shipping was cheap too. Anytime you want a wholesale priced part, just PM HERSH here and he'll respond with a price. If you give him your zip, he can also give you the shipping cost. Even if you don't get it from him, he will give you the price.

If you haven't noticed yet by looking through these steering wheel controls threads, myself, sherdep, and russellabjr have done this mod and have stayed interested in what help we can provide others. The whole thing with me is that two dealers told me that it could NOT be done without buying the Infinity Stereo and replacing the column (dumb-asses). Doing this by spending around $50 and an hour or so installing it makes it the most useful AND cost-effective mod you can do on your RAM. I hardly ever reach over to the stereo anymore. If anyone reads this and wants to do the mod, they can PM either myself, sherdep, or Russellabjr and we'd be happy to give our numbers for any questions you may have. Russ and Matt, if this statement is offensive, let me know and I'll edit this post.

You got to Private Message HERSH. If he doesn't respond quickly, just send him another -- that usually gets his attention. You got to remember that there's only one guy getting questions about Dodge parts at Archer, and possibly hundreds of us asking him. It takes a day or so to get a response, but it works if you send him a reminder message when your patience is drawn thin.

WOW! Is this including cutting the steering wheel and taking the gauges out? That's amazing dude!

Congrats on the mod. You've definitely hold the record on doing this mod.

ummmmmm..... I didn't take any pics of doing the work all I have is the finished product. Sorry guys.
Curious though, Which side of the steering wheel did you guys opt to put the volume controls on? I didn't think about it and they are on my right hand presently but I think I'll be switching the wires to have it on my left hand.

Just switching the wires won't work. You'll have to move the entire switch. Each button on the switch tells the radio what to do. They send a certain signal down the wire. That's why the part numbers are different, why they don't cost the same, and why there's only one wire going to the back of the cluster. If you want to swap sides, you'll have to move the switches.

I know because I tried connecting the wire in the steering wheel up different ways to see which one was the best fit, and it never changed the fact that the volume was on the right and the tuner was on the left.

Blawson's keep in on top of things while me and Russ are away ... yes you have to change the switches not the wires to swap over the volume to the other side of the steering wheel

i found out about that the hard way.. lol. i had my volume on the right originally, but didnt like it. I switched the switches so the volume is now on the left. it was a royal pain in the ass because i BARELY had room for the wiring connector to come in from the left and right, respectively. good luck.

I found the actual part number for the harness on a '03 steering wheel. It is 56000918AC. I got my switches in. Found another wheel for $50 but the harness was cut and missing a connector. So I had to get a new one harness. Thanx for the help. Sure was nervous taking the airbag off the first time.

So was the wheel you found already have the holes for the switches?

Also, I wouldn't think that the part number mentioned earlier in the thread (for the harness) would be any different (physically) than the one you found.
