HELP! any ideas of estimate cost fixing the dent

Hello!

I just hit a dodge SUV an hour ago (it was an accident!). I was backing out and his car was parked opposite direction (yep parked his suv in a place that he wasn't supposed to parked..lol). I hit right above the tire at the driver side. If it is worth it to get the insurance involve or just pay it out of the pocket. If it is not more than $500..then I would pay for it.

Thank you!!!! I tried to attach the photo I took but it wont let me .

That is 2-3 panels. So I think $300-$500 is a decent price.

Garage
It doesn't appear to be too bad. That front bumper cover will be the big key. Shops do not repair those. They pretty much replace if it's bend out of shape.

Fender, bumper cover at least. Plus some blending. I think you're north of $600-1000.

Your best bet is to find a couple of body shops. Have them do an estimate for you. 2 shops would give you a good idea of what is involved and what it will cost.

I think you could even call your insurance company, they'll give you a place they prefer to do the work. Some places will even waive your deductible.

I can't see that being repaired for under $500. Just pay the deductible.

Hard to tell from that pic.
As the other poster said the bumper cover is expensive.
The headlight might also have been hurt as it has mounts in the fender.
The paint will likely be $500 on its own. Add in fender, bumper cover, trim maybe a headlight.
Not cheap.

I agree with mike it could likely be over $1000. But hard to tell just from that pic.

Maybe you can find color match parts at a junk yard and get out at around $500 but a shop will buy all new parts and paint them.
