Lift kit?

I have a 2000 Ram 1500 2 wheel drive extended cab and want to lift it enough to put 265 or 285x75x16 BFG all-terrains on it. What is the least expensive way to go? and can I do it myself? I use this truck for hunting and mud does come into effect sometime.
Thanks; Buddy

You should be able to fit some 265's with the addition of 2" coil spacers which are cheap and can be done in the driveway.

I had the 285 MFG Mud Terrains on there with the 2" coil donut.
Got some rub at lock agains the rear wheel well liner.
You can also get a set of 3500 springs that will raise it up some.
It will ride like a coal box though.
You can get a lift from fabtech for around $350-$700 depending on how high you want to go.
The 5.5 inch I am running cost about $500, but I pieced it together.

Thanks for the replies. I will probably go with the coil spacers but I want the truck to set level and still have a smooth ride. Any way to do this inexpensively?

The coil spacers will not change the ride and will level it out some.

ok... right now I already have 285/75 16's BFG A/T's on my 00 1500 4x4. Does that mean that I have the offroad package w/ factory lift?
Thanks
