in september i'll be taking a trip to moab with my daughter. i'll be driving my old dodge, but just in case, i want to tow a back up vehicle using a uhaul tow dolly. i might end up towing my 02 toyota tacoma double cab behind the dodge. i am hoping to borrow someone's lighter FWD car to tow......it'll be easier and lighter than the double cab tacoma. but in case i have to tow something with RWD, do i have to remove the drive shaft if its an automatic? or is that just a precaution? if the dodge breaks down, it'd be nice not to have to install a driveshaft to drive somewhere for parts/help.
any advice you can throw my way? it just dawned on me that i can put the rear wheels on the tow dolly and have the fronts on the ground. will that cause any issues?
