Thanks So looks like I should be fine my CVRs require 1^ft per sub min in a sealed box they can live without the extra .02^ft lol

You should be in shock with the difference I surely was. I didnt think that it would be any better. But it was.

Guys also my box didnt come with the spacers because the guy used wood for his spacers, What are you guys using? I was thinking about using some oversided nuts or washers to lift the seat? Are the bolts long enough to accomidate the 1/2-3/4 inch lift I need to do to clear the subs?

Use 3/4" mdf for the spacers. That's what Joe Fox uses.

oh really..... Might be cutting up the older speaker box and using the mdf as spacers. Thanks, I'll have to wait till we move because most of the tools are packed up. Sounds like a good first mod at the new house

I like to buy precut 3/4" mdf shelves at home depot. You can get a 12" x 24" shelf for like $5. That's plenty for small projects.

Poly fill helps but be sure you have a tightly sealed box also. My speakers were leaking and I was not getting tight bass. I used vasoline as a parting agent on the subs and then siliconed them to the box. Huge difference!

I used the same holes as he guy before me and about 3 per sub did not bite well so I rotated the subs and drilled some new holes.

So is it the bolting down of the box or the polyfill making the huge difference?

IMO....... I would say 65% bolting/35% Polyfill.

I would say the poly fill because its basically a plastic box and plastic boxes are not the best for bass.

Just a quick update. Went to lowes and bought some steel spacers. They work perfectly. About 2bucks each and I needed 8 of them.

I did run into a snag and that was with the seat belt. When I used the spacer with the seat belt and the oem bolt it was not long enough. So because I didnt want to make another trip to lowes. I went and cut about 1/4inch off the spacer and the bolt worked just fine.

Because Im anal about my truck and for the fact that in an event of an accident God forbid. I want more bite for the screws. Its tight but I just want more bolt going through the hole for added sense of security and safety.
