I have a 2006 dodge 2500 4x4 5.7 hemi with the 545 transmission, I have checked the fuses and have found them to be good; I have also checked the bulbs and they are good also. I have looked at the wiring diagram and from what I can tell there is a controller in the transmission that controls the backup lights, is this were I should be looking or is their some thing I have over looked? Any help would be gladly appreciated.
im not 100% sure about the 545RFE, but if it has a reverse/nuetral safety switch, I would replace it. My wifes Durango had no reverse lights for months. We checked the bulbs, the fuses, and the wiring. Everything was good. Replaced the reverse/nuetral safety switch, BAM they worked.
As far as I can find out the 545 does not have a reverse/nuetral safety switch it has a Transmission Range Sensor that is in the transmission on the valve body.
