I'd trade, just because I love that color.

As long as it was maintained; you get the updated styling, wheels, and that color!

is it a trade as is, or are you going to take everything off of your truck and swap it over? if you can swap the aftermarket i'd say go for it if your comfortable with the condition its in, the newer 4.7 is a little better if im correct? plus i prefer the looks of the 06-08 better than the 04's

I'm with Shots on this one. The 4.7L engine is a great engine IF you take care of it. It doesn't sound like he has done that with this truck. If the truck has every over-heated, you could be looking at big problems down the road as well. I still say you're better off with the lower mile, but a little older, truck; your truck.

If you start a thread, be responsible and post the final outcome.

his truck has never over heated but im keeping my truck becuase of the low miles and because i take care of it better only reason i wanted his truck was because of the blue paint love that blue and if i did take his truck i would just transfer my parts on to it and have some 20's for sale keeping the 17's

Eh.

When I posted earlier, I hadn't read the latest posts about it not being maintained.

You should swap wheels and tires, but definitely keep your truck.

also, sorry to hear about your family splitting up, i hate to hear about that

dunno how good you are with a wrench and what kind of access you have but....
four jack stands, two good floor jacks, an impact wrench, and a full set of sockets and allen wrenches, and an afternoon or work with a buddy, and you can swap your axle for your dad's no problem
it's free (paying for gears and set up however is not, so why not just swap for an axle that's plug and play like his), if his brakes are trash, swap yours on
it's really not hard at all, especially on a leaf sprung axle
i wouldn't hesitate to do it
might as well change the diff fluid and bleed the brakes while you're at it
it'll take you longer to jack the truck upand get the wheels off, than it will to unbolt everything from the axles

Keep yours. No question in my mind. Higher mileage, no better tech specs (unless you count the problematic 3.92 LSD), worse maintenance, none of your mods. No brainer. If there's anything inside his truck that will swap easily (like maybe leather seats vs. cloth) I'd swap those and sell it. Then take the money you make and pimp your truck.

OR! Sell both and get a badass 4th gen with 4wd and a hemi (or a cummins if it's in the right price range). At the very least you can pimp your ride with the proceeds of the '07. Nice stereo, new rims and tires, suspension upgrades, engine mods.

if i had an option to sell both the trucks to get something better i would been drooling over a lifted mc diesel at the dealership down the road but if we sell the 07 my mom is keeping the money because my stepdad is leaving debt free while my mom is gonna be stuck with all the mortgage, bills, car payment on the aspen suv we have and more stuff same if i keep the 07 and sell the 04 ram moms keeping the money

As for the swap. No way. They're both the same engine, and 2wd. The only difference you'd be getting for poor maintenance and higher mileage is a color change and gears. IMHO it sounds like a bad trade to me. You can change the gears for a few hundred dollars, and if you really want a different color you can have that done too. At which point you could get a custom color that nobody else has. Definitely keep your truck.
Agreed.

ya'll sure are harsh on the guy
his family's splitting up and you're ragging him over his grammar
while it's annoying to read stuff that looks like it's been put together by a 4 yr old, perhaps folks should lay off, all things considered.

Wow that was meaner than any of us were. All the comments I've read are just making jokes. Nobody was throwing insults out there like saying he writes like a 4 year old.

Hi pot, I'm the kettle.

Seriously though. Not trying to be a jerk or anything, I'm just sayin'.
