'05 Grand Caravan - headlights difficult to turn on?

My '05 GC has had this problem for years and I want to figure out the problem. When I turn on the night driving headlights they don't turn on until I flip the headlight switch many times, sometimes it takes ten minutes of switching it on and off to get them to work... any idea why? Is it the switch? Daytime running lights are on all the time no problem...

Once the night headlights do come on, the passenger side headlight commonly has to be given a gentle smack to turn on... any idea of why this is?

Greetings, sounds as though you have two problems going on. Number one I would say headlight switch number two a bad headlight. I hope this helps and good luck.

Definitely a bad switch, and the headlight either has a loose or corroded connector, or the filament is broken and tapping it causes it to fuse and make contact again.
