first of all have a 99 ram 1500 bought a plug and play brake control and the plug and play harness do I have to run any other wiring from the front to the trailer plug at the bumper so that the trailer brakes will work have a 7wire plug at the bumper and it had the plug under the dash for the control haven't had a chance to pull trailer to see if the brakes work.
You need to find the plug under the dash and wire the controller to it. If you have the trailer package(7 pin connector from the factory) that's all you need to do. If not you need to run wires.
found the plug under the dash have the control hooked up and mounted don't know if it had the 7 wire plug from the factory or not when I got truck it had a 4wire plug I took it out and got the 7 wire and 4 wire combination kit and plugged it in but haven't had anything with brakes hooked to it yet and wanted to know if I needed to run wires for the brakes. is there a plug some place to hook the brake wires to or do I need to cut and splice because I can't hook to the control.
