I've always had bedliners, except my current truck. Probably won't get one sprayed either. I could care less about a scratched bed.

Overtime they can fade. But again, it's just a bed that's made to haul stuff.

i don't like the idea of any part of my truck getting scratched but now i am starting to think i should stick to looking on craigslist for a used factory liner because i can pull it out if i want to

well now i know i cant do any liner i will just paint it and put a blanket down to haul stuff because i have no money for a liner and if i keep the metal exposed that long it will rust so painting it my self is all i can afford it may take years to save that much money so i cant have my bed rusting because that is why i took the liner out

Until you can afford a spray-in liner, which is really the ONLY way to go long-term, just pick up a rubber mat for the bed so things don't slide around. You can usually find them at Wal-Mart, or even buy the stuff and cut it yourself to fit from the Home Depot. Your bed is actually not in that bad of shape really. Once it's sprayed you will have nothing to worry about. But a good spray-in liner will cost around $400 here in TX, so probably closer to $600 in CA if I had to guess.

Also we should probably move this thread to 2nd Gen Rams, or let you create a new one pretty soon, because this is really just the "welcome" area of the site.
