transmission problems?? '89 6cyl ram

new to the forums. i usually would be able to identify a problem... but trannys arent my thing.. my 89 ram is ''thumping'' hard.. pretty much always when i take a turn and sometimes on a straightaway. in the cab it feels like its under me. maybe a problem with the yoke or something in the bellhousing? it seems to be shifting into gears fine though.. so i dont know.. any help / advise would be awesome.. oh and its a automatic..

If it only does it in 3rd it could be the torque converter having issues locking up.

Yeah, i'd say it's your diff. I've had a friend of mine who has a Ford (yeah i know, it's a ford) but in turns like a parking lot or going at certain speeds the diff would want to lock up or thump as if it were skipping gears.
