The full Hughes plenum repair kit which includes with the 1/4" aluminum plenum plate, steel plenum gasket, Victor-Reinz intake gaskets (that's what they sold; I wonder if I should have used Felpro from a local parts store?), plenum bolts, and intake manifold bolts was $153.00 shipped.
While I was in there I also changed out the coolant bypass hose for a new premium Dayco piece (~$8.00 at shop cost).
I had just changed the 65/35% water/coolant mix (with a bottle of Redline Water Wetter) so once it was drained out in a drain pan I ran it through a paint strainer which I placed inside a funnel and put it back in the coolant bottles. I always keep a couple empty gallon oil/coolant jugs around for ease of geeting rid of the stuff because I bring it to the local parts stores and they recycle it. Once back in the bottles and the truck was back in one piece I simply dumped it back in. That saved me ~$17.00 at shop cost for coolant & the Redline Water Wetter.
I also just changed my thermostat & gasket (Stant Superstat 180 degree & Felpro gasket) so that too saved me ~$10.00 at shop cost.

As far as labor goes...I have no idea. My dad has his own shop so I did it myself there. I didn't look up the labor hours to see what we usually charge a customer, but I can.
Our labor rate is the cheapest that I know of too boot, only $50.00/hour.
I would think that it would be more then $200.00 for just the labor.

Being this is on the same topic & we already talked about it I'll post in here...

When I initially posted this thread I have been wanting a hemifever tuned SCT.
I camne to DT today an saw his 'Black Friday' sale so my wife got it for me as a Christmas gift.

I'll report my findings once my truck is set up & dialed in with it.

What you fellers need that have the sluggish feeling trucks is some 4.10's. These trucks need the extra gearing for putting down more TORQUE to the pavement. You can play around with shift points and such, but in the end the best bang for the buck mod, and one that will make all your other mods feel better, is 4.10's.

Then throw on an SCT tuner, and it will feel like a whole other truck.

I looked at picking up some 3.91s today.
I may get some.
At 75 MPH it's a 200 RPM difference from my 3.55s
I'm afraid that if I do I'll lose my 'good' fuel economy.
I can manage 17 MPGs right now.
I also tow as a hobby as often as I can (to get me out of the house).
I can't afford to lose any MPGs.

What my truck really needs is to shed 1,000 lbs. of unwanted weight.

Dont bother, go 4.10's or dont waste your money. You'll wish you had.

With 4.10's (once you get your foot out of it from the newfound torque) you'll actually gain 1 to 2 MPG with the cruise set at 70 on the highway. 3.55's just lug these engines down too much, they run much more efficeintly at about 2200 to 2300 rpm than at 1950-2000ish that the 3.55s hold you at.

And the 4.10's will help ALOT with towing and mileage when loaded. My 2000, back before the huge tires and SCT and such, on the stock Michelin HT's, got about 16-17 MPG mixed. On a trip up to MO to pick up a 68 Charger, towing an 18' flatbed, we got about 15 MPG, coming back with the car on the trailer, we got about 13.5 mpg, all doing at least 70 mph other than the few small towns we'd hit along the way. If we still had 3.55's we'd be stuck driving alot slower and out of OD to pull the trailer and keep the RPM's up, and mileage would have suffered alot.

thanks, think I will consider a sct tuner over my superchips,I assume getting rid of torque management would be a good improvement.

x2 on both of the above posts
I love talking Mopars and do it all day long it seems between the forums & car shows/sawp meets.

What color is your Challenger T/A?
That is my dads favorite car of all time, and I'd love to find him one.
I just can't afford one though.
I also have a few more Mopars that aren't listed as well.
