From what I've been told, the vp's only run about 10-15psi anyways. I only remember because I was surprised when I learned that, because ppumps are safe from 18-40 psi, with 18-35 being the norm.

Mine is a 4601HP/100gph mounted on the frame rail so it'll pull out of the fuel tank easier.
I think it's in my picture gallery.

Let's keep this going...my wiring is extended from the stock wiring (w/stock connector removed) with same gauge wiring butt splice soldered and double heat shrink insulated with soldered connectors at the pump that have them holes/check my pic up close at the pump.
My gauge is a 0-30 US Gage good to 1/2 psi @ 15psi with a Drutt calibration check tool.
I get 11.58 volts to the pump at idle.

Why You Ask?...
Because Carter's quality check system is so poor they allow junk like that to slip out.
I have seen them vary anywhere from 20psi down to 8 psi new out of the box.
If you do not want to buy a AirDog or a FASS then you should think about using a Walbro or a Airtek as they have been alot better with their pressures right from the factory.

Holley has a fairly new billet 150gph gerotor pump I'm thinking about.
I'm having to change the filter too often to keep the WOT pressure around 8 psi then when you use the colder/heavier fuel, it gets down to 6psi WOT. Idle is around 14psi.
If I put the 100hp sticks back in, I could keep my old Carter and clutch too....the price of fun.

Im starting to get lower pressures now that my pump is getting some wear on it. Need to pull the spring and stretch it some.
