Hell if I know lol. It's just the latest and greatest with bug fixes and whatnot just like your PC updates. The one thing I noticed is that the tune files are a different format now so I know that was part of the firmware update so it could recognize the new format.

That would be nice. There are a few datalogging scanners that you can plug in to your OBDII port seperately though. I think there are some you can put on a laptop and connect the OBDII port to it through USB as well.

But it would be nice if the SCT was a touchscreen with real time displays of sensors and datalogging capable, as well as loading new tune files to the PCM.

When I ordered my SCT a couple of months ago, it took the usual 1 week for delivery, which isn't too bad. Sean also sent me an 89 tune and so far it is working good. The seat off the pants feel is good to me, but I hate to say it but i am not too sure what to look for there!!!

My tune did make a huge difference with performance, and it really woke up my 318! The biggest difference I noticed is recently driving in rain, I can easily break the tires loose on pavement, while before, it would be impossible, and that was without a topper, or less weight on the rear wheels!

On my 3rd/4th tank of premium gas right now, today I switched to the 93 tune, way too much knock/ping on moderate acceleration.

so switched back to econo-87 which was very smooth, peppy, and *no* mechanical engine noises (even without waiting for any relearn).

Didn't really nail the pedal to see what she'd do but was plenty strong, but too noisy with the 93 flash.

Prob signs of leaky plenum or dirty chambers... will revisit 93-tune at a later date! For now the 87-tune covers everything up very well... no engine noise/ping/knock.

Comparing 87 tune to stock... stock was noisier (ping/knock) and not too peppy

Try a good shot of seafoam through the intake and decarbonize the combustion chambers some. I just did mine today at lunch because Im still hearing a tad of ping on the 93 tune, should clear it up. If you have a leaky plenum though it will just keep coming back until you fix it.

some ping might go away if you close the plug gap a bit. try closing them in .05 increments until it cools off and the combustion can saturate w/ fuel better. what plugs do you run?

I have SCT tuning Software for my 98 Dodge Dakota. With your set up, can you read the Fuel and Spark Tables? I would like to compare numbers and mods.
