ok, in that case, do ya figure they swapped em in 2000, when they started puttin the six speeds behind the diesels?

i know that the 3500 was so damn awesome, they put em behind the I6 in the Wranglers

Depends on what engine it's got. If it's got a 318, it will be a 3500. I don't think the 318 2500's came with the 4500.....I could be wrong here though.

i say ya should find a wrecked six speed diesel, yank the tranny outta it, get a smaller input shaft made, then, mount that SOB to your motor

a SIX speed 360...

Meh. Too many gears to be shiftin. I've got more RPM's than the cummins so I don't need a 6 speed.

Well, bigbrad, I guess get more info on the truck. Gonna talk to the wife. Really, the only thing that makes this remotely plausable in the budget right now, is the possibility of selling the 46RE afterward.

No worries, man. I don't think it would have fit in my budget anyway. It was likely wishful thinking on both ends.

And, yes, swapping from the 318 to the 360 is worth it. The HP ratings aren't too much more, but the 360 is a torque POWER HOUSE (for a gas engine <--- that's for you, cmns2500)!
