Transmission and Towing

See sig for truck details.

I tow my max for a 1/2 ton when we go to the desert. What type of mods can I do to my transmission to keep it alive and well?

Thanks,
D.

Since you have a tow package, you should have an auxillary transmission cooler.. If not you should add one, preferably with a fan. A shift kit would also be a good thing to have since it reduces slippage when the transmission shifts.
A temperature gauge for the transmission would also let you know if the transmission gets hot on uphill towing.
