Question 2x4 to 4x4 is it possible?

I have a 1500 2x4 and i want a 4x4. icant trdae it in caues it was a gift. what do i need to go 4x4 PLEASE HELP! Is it possible to convert it?

Yeah, Im sure it is. But the real question is: How deep is your pocket book?
I think you would be better off tradeing in for an accual 4x4. Just my .02

I have to agree with [)oclgefre4k on this one. there is just too much time and money involved. Not to mention the tranny isn't set up for it and how would you get it warranted? If you want 4x4, buy a new truck. You don't want the hassles of a shop special.

or, get a really nice lift, bigger wheels and tires, and order a "4x4" taigate sticker, and nobody will ever know the difference if they don't get inside.

Seen it done on a few mid 80's RAMs, but its not worth it with all the electronics on the new trucks. Go down town and cruise the lots, you'll find a nice 4x4 I'm sure!
