Unhappy Alarm is engaged

I have a 2000 Dodge Durango that up until now has been a great vehicle. We went to get in the truck the other night and the alarm started going off. We tried to turn it off but the remote is no longer working even though we just replaced the batteries. I need to know how to disable or remove the alarm since the truck will not start because of the alarm.

Unlock either the passenger side door lock, or the rear hatch with the key. This turns the alarm off. It SHOULD have worked on the Driver's door, BUT since it apparently did not happen for you, I assume that the sensor came off the back of the door lock. It is just a tiny plastic clip with 2 wires coming out of it that clips onto the lock mechanism. I hope this helps you.

I had the same issue (after locking myself out, then poking the door unlock from the passenger door with a wire).

The only way I could shut her up was to first remove the horn relay (helps thinking when the thing is not blaring), then lock, then unlock the door with the key.
The FOB won't work to disengage the alarm once it's been triggered.
