Are 2wd and 4X4 rear shocks the same?

I'm looking at the Rancho shock application guide and they list the same rear shocks for both the 2wd and the 4X4 2nd gen Rams - and that's for all their shock series.

This is a concern to me because I just bought the 4" Rancho lift kit for my truck (lift kit includes blocks for the rear, about 2" high) and I'm now buying shocks. I don't see a need to buy rear shocks if both 2wd and 4X4 Rams use the same rear shocks, and my trucks rear end will be about as high as a 4X4's (my rear shocks are still riding fine, and I don't want to spend more money that I really need to!).

Or may it be that the shocks are the same but the shock mounts are different?

Please advice.

The shock mounts are the same for both 2wd and 4wd Rams......your concern should be " Will the shocks I have now ,be long enough for the lifted truck ?"
