25' Pursuit.....3,800 pounds dry. Tack on about 1,100 lbs for the Continental dual axle trailer and another 500lbs for the 225 Yamaha outboard. 50 gallons of gas or so in the boat brings everything in at around 6,000 lbs.
I have the same set up....4.7 with 20' wheels with 3.92 LSD. It pulls it fine...downshifts alot in my hilly area, but I have the transmission cooler so it doesn't concern me much.

Looks like you need a little load distribution. Is the A$$ end sagging or is it just the angle of the pics?

It brings the back down a bit....it kind of levels it off. My torsion bars are cranked to bring the front up about 3/4" from stock. I know what you mean though...been thinking about moving the boat back on the trailer about a foot.
But, the marina where we got the trailer knew exactly what was going on it and set it at that point. Reputable guys too, so I don't know if i should mess with the set up or not. I'm not sure what the toungue weight is.

I am not sure if it will work for you, because I believe you have surge brakes on your boat trailer, but they make load distribution hitches that would help with the sagging. Again....not sure if it will work with surge brakes.

Yeah, it has a surge brake and 4 wheel discs brakes. How would a load distribution hitch work? I'm kinda new to this whole thing. Basically I've been going with what's been recommended to me from proffesionals in the business. I appreciate the input!

I pull a 5900 pound travel trailer with few problems. Here in Kentucky it's pretty hilly and with my 3.92's I do get a lot of down shifts and will run at high RPM's occasionally. But that's an anoyance more than anything. I can run interstate speeds all day with no problems.

Must be a pretty small 5th wheel. Any pics of that?

I just traded in my 2003 4.y litre with same specs as yours. Are you ready for this? The truck had 254,000 kms on it. 100,000 kms was pulling a dual axle trailer with 4500 lbs of equipment on it. It was still running like a charm. The only work I head done on the truck was at 114,000 kms with a carrier bearing replaced in the rear Diff. I started getting vibration whenever accelerating into a left or right turn. This truck was amazing!!
