I just bought an 04 Laramie, it has the floor shifter for 4wd. Does that mean mine had the manual 4wd optional? Is there a reason someone would order that over the electronic?

No Infinity in my truck, so no steering wheel controls for me, something I would like to add however, I sure miss it.
I didn't think about this when I wrote my last post but there were two Laramie packages during those years... a J package (base) Laramie, and a H package. The electronic 4wd feature would be optional on the J package and standard on the H. Sounds like you have a J package Laramie truck.

Sorry for the confusion.
