Hey guys, i'm new to the group just for this one question. Thanks in advance.

I have a guy interested in buying my '99 Stratus. It has a bad head gasket (runs but overheats within 5-6 min) but is otherwise great condition, no dings or scratches that are noticable without getting within 6" of the paint job. The car has 95k miles on it, pw, pl, cruise, and an aftermarket cd player that was a little over $200 by itself (not that really matters, but...). How much should I ask for it. I am not a mechanic and have no idea what it would cost to fix. I do know that Kelly Blue book puts it at $3,025 in fair condition, but with the engine issues I know it worth much less. Is $1000 realistic? More... less? I would say I'd have to get at least $500...right? Thanks for your input.

Ben

well for the head gasket repair will cost at least 500 or more to repair so I say get knocked off 1k or otherwise dont get it. It could be a simple headgasket repair or could be extreme to a new head

I'm doing the selling. How much should I ask for a car with the listed problems. I am thinking 1500 obo but take no less than 1000. Other than the engine issues it is in otherwise excellent condition. Prior to the head issues (3-4 months ago) I redid the front end brakes, inner and outer tie rods, and a few others things. Am I on track by asking $1500 obo?

Thanks...
