2001 Dodge Stratus 3.0 SE - thermostat ?

Recently, my heater decides when it wants to work or not. I figure it's the thermostat and want to change myself - where is it located and do I have to drain and refill antifreeze when I do it? I haven't had to work on a car in quite some time and am a little rusty.

Get the Chilton's repair manual for your car. It guides you through that job step by step, plus lots of extra info about your car. The Haynes books are OK, but lack good wiring info. Both at your local auto parts stores for about $25.
